This award-winning bridge project featured the construction of an 8,645-foot long X 70-foot wide bridge structure that is the second longest span in the State of Maryland. It featured the first use of prestressed concrete cylinder in the state of Maryland. The bridge is supported by 54-inch and 66-inch cylinder piles. This project received two awards; one for Special Recognition for the Creative Use of Precast and Prestressed Concrete from the PCI and, one from the ACEC for Innovative Excellence in Engineering Design.
